It’s Raku firing day.
It’s Raku firing day. These are all the pieces you can choose from. Over 30 to choose from and then pick one or more of our 35 different colored glazes and paint the piece you purchase. Then watch it fired and take it with you the same day.
New Bisque Added
We just added about 200 new bisque pieces bringing out total to choose from to approximately 600.
Upcoming Raku Firing
In the next three to four weeks we will be doing a Raku firing. This is a ancient Japanese firing technique from the 16th century. Since I am a full service clay studio we will be doing demonstrations like this for people to watch and learn about different ways to make ceramics. You will be able to experience this event in three different ways.1) No cost just stop by and watch. 2) Come out ahead of time and make something on a pottery wheel or hand build a piece. Then participate in the firing with your own piece. 3) Purchase a piece that is pre made by myself and then glaze it in the colors that you want and participate in the firing. The pieces I make will range from $20-50 and that price includes glazing and firing. If you are not available for the day of the firing you can still make a piece and it can be fired that day for you. The pictures are of some pieces that are already available for purchase. Remember they are all one of a kind pieces and they do have my artist mark on them. One picture is of some finished I made for an example. They are not for sale. The links will give you a better idea of what Raku is. Horse hair firing is some thing else that will be done that day.
